QUBA MOSQUE

The Quba Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the world. Quba mosque was built in the year 1 Hijriah or 622 M in Quba by our prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam. It is located approximately 5 km to the southeast of the city of Madinah. It is a simple mosque, but it becomes the example for next construction of mosque in this world.

Quba mosque in our prophet era and now are different. In our prophet era, we can find many pillars from palm trees, the flat roof that made from the date leaves and clay. In the middle of the mosque, we can find a well; it is used for taking ritual ablution.

Quba mosque nowadays, the courtyard is flagged with black, red and white marble. The mosque has 19 doors; 3 doors are the main doors and 16 doors are the common doors. From the 3 main doors; 2 doors for men and a door for women. When entering into the mosque, pay attention to the instruction in the front of the door, whether the door for men or women.

Now, we enter to the mosque, the prayer hall is arranged around a central courtyard, it’s characterized by six large domes resting on clustered columns. A portico, which is two bays in depth, borders the courtyard on the east and west, while a one-bayed portico borders it on the north, and separates it from the women's area. The women's area, which is surrounded by a screen, is divided into two parts as a passageway connects the northern entrance with the courtyard.

In the 20th century when renovation was conducted, the prayer hall connects to a cluster containing; residential areas, offices, ablution facilities, shops, and a library. Six additional entrances are dispersed on the northern, eastern and western façades. Four minarets mark the corners of the prayer hall. The minarets rest on square bases, have octagonal shafts which take on a circular shape as they reach the top.

TEACHING MEDIA

FLANNEL BOARD

(RETELLING NARRATIVE STORY FOR KINDERGARTEN)

A.           CONCEPT OF SCENARIO
I am a kindergarten teacher. For this material, I use a flannel board to teach my students. The material that will be taught is retelling narrative story.
This is concept of the video.
1.      Pre activity
a.       Greeting
b.      Introduction of the material
2.      Whilst Activity
In this section, a teacher just retells a narrative story, “Three Little Cats”.
Once upon a time there were three little cats and the time came for them to leave home and seek their fortunes.
Before they left, their mother told them "Whatever you do, do it the best that you can because that's the way to get along in the world.
The first little cat built his house out of straw because it was the easiest thing to do. The second little cat built his house out of sticks. This was a little bit stronger than a straw house. The third little cat built his house out of bricks.
One night the big bad dog, who dearly loved to eat fat little cat, came along and saw the first little cat in his house of straw. He said "Cat, cat, let me in, Let me in, little cat, or I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house in!"
"Miau, miau, no,no,no!", said the little cat.
But of course the dog did blow the house in. the cat ran and shout, “Help me! Help! Help!
The dog then came to the house of sticks.
"Let me in , let me in little cat, or I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house in."
"Miau, miau. No, no, no!", said the little cat. But the dog blew that house in too. Both of the cats shout, “Help me, help, help!”
The dog then came to the house of bricks.
" Let me in , let me in" cried the dog, "Or I'll huff and I'll puff till I blow your house in."
"Miau, miau. No, no, no!" said the cat.
Well, the dog huffed and puffed but he could not blow down that brick house. But the dog was a sly old dog and he climbed up on the roof to look for a way into the brick house.
The little cat saw the dog climb up on the roof and lit a roaring fire in the fireplace. When the dog finally found the hole in the chimney he crawled down. The buttock of the dog was burnt, that was the end of his troubles with the big bad dog.

3.      Post activity
The teacher gives conclusion by giving some messages relate to the narrative story.

B.            TOPIC AND TARGET
The topic of this lesson is retelling narrative story with the title “Three Little Cats.” This story is modification from familiar story, Three Little Pigs. We know, in 2013 Indonesia curriculum, we expected to consider the topic relate to the milieu of the students, so the primary changing here is the pigs change to the cats.
Target of this presentation is to improve listening skill of kindergarten students. Automatically, they will become usual to comprehend the foreign language, especially English.

C.           MEDIA AND TOOLS
Choosing suitable media is very important; it is expected in kindergarten level to avoid boring of the students. In this section, I am as a teacher use the flannel board to deliver the material. The board and some characters that will be used have to prepare some days before delivering to students.

D.           TECHNIQUE OF VIDEO PERSENTATION
Technique in delivering this material is a teacher retells the narrative story while showing the character on the flannel board, so it will help the students to comprehend the story and to get the message of the story.

Salman Faris, the Writer is Coming with the Tears

November, 10th 2013, it was about 11.50 pm, when my dream will come in my sleep, I saw the lighting in my phone. Actually, I always choose the silent mode for my phone in order not to disturb my sleep. So, I just can see the lighting without the ringing. I saw Salman Faris, my lecturer and my favorite writer was calling. He was a lecturer in STKIP Hamzanwadi Selong. I liked all of his novels. I saw my phone. I thought whether I answered or no, because it was the sleep time. I ignored it. I tried to do not think it. Once more, I saw my phone was lighting, I said to myself, what’s wrong? Why does he call me in my sleep time? That was my heart question. After my heart asked to myself, I saw my phone was lighting again. This was the third time he called me. So, I answered him.
“Assalamualaikum. Hallo?” I said.
“Wa’alaikumussalam. I need your help. Please come to the crossroad of Paok Motong, I have got accident just now. Please help me!”
It made me shock. Directly, I opened my door, I called my father, and we went to the crossroad. The crossroad is about 100 meters from my house. We picked Mr.Salman up.
In my house, Mr.Salman told us the chronology of the accident that he got. I saw some injured in his body. He said, “This is the first accident I have got. I’m shock! I need to recover myself.” Then he called Mr.Helmi to pick him up.
I imagine if Mr.Salman was a girl, he would cry and the tears were like the rain. My favorite writer was crying, but that was my imagination only.
Some minutes later, Mr.Helmi and his friend came. We talked for some minutes. After that, they permit to came back when I saw the time was 01.10 am. We hoped Mr.Salman got better soon.

Listening Skill __Rugi kalo gak baca___

Mentemen, aku udah baca artikel bagus tentang Listening Skill. Nih aku bagi-bagi, aku copy paste nih, jangan ampe gak dibaca ya....
Selamat membaca!!!

You probably spend more time using your listening skills than any other kind of skill. Like other skills, listening takes practice.

What does it mean to really listen?

Real listening is an active process that has three basic steps.
  1. Hearing. Hearing just means listening enough to catch what the speaker is saying. For example, say you were listening to a report on zebras, and the speaker mentioned that no two are alike. If you can repeat the fact, then you have heard what has been said.
  2. Understanding. The next part of listening happens when you take what you have heard and understand it in your own way. Let's go back to that report on zebras. When you hear that no two are alike, think about what that might mean. You might think, "Maybe this means that the pattern of stripes is different for each zebra."
  3. Judging. After you are sure you understand what the speaker has said, think about whether it makes sense. Do you believe what you have heard? You might think, "How could the stripes to be different for every zebra? But then again, the fingerprints are different for every person. I think this seems believable."

Tips for being a good listener

  1. Give your full attention on the person who is speaking. Don't look out the window or at what else is going on in the room.
  2. Make sure your mind is focused, too. It can be easy to let your mind wander if you think you know what the person is going to say next, but you might be wrong! If you feel your mind wandering, change the position of your body and try to concentrate on the speaker's words.
  3. Let the speaker finish before you begin to talk. Speakers appreciate having the chance to say everything they would like to say without being interrupted. When you interrupt, it looks like you aren't listening, even if you really are.
  4. Let yourself finish listening before you begin to speak! You can't really listen if you are busy thinking about what you want say next.
  5. Listen for main ideas. The main ideas are the most important points the speaker wants to get across. They may be mentioned at the start or end of a talk, and repeated a number of times. Pay special attention to statements that begin with phrases such as "My point is..." or "The thing to remember is..."
  6. Ask questions. If you are not sure you understand what the speaker has said, just ask. It is a good idea to repeat in your own words what the speaker said so that you can be sure your understanding is correct. For example, you might say, "When you said that no two zebras are alike, did you mean that the stripes are different on each one?"
  7. Give feedback. Sit up straight and look directly at the speaker. Now and then, nod to show that you understand. At appropriate points you may also smile, frown, laugh, or be silent. These are all ways to let the speaker know that you are really listening. Remember, you listen with your face as well as your ears!

Thinking fast

Remember: time is on your side! Thoughts move about four times as fast as speech. With practice, while you are listening you will also be able to think about what you are hearing, really understand it, and give feedback to the speaker.

Mengenangmu

Memerah berdarah
Mengering di terpa angin
Menempel pada dedauan kamboja
Akankah engkau terlupa?

Melati semerbak wangikan jasad yang pasi
Pada peti melambai tangis tiada kira
Merah putih berkibar
Nyawamu menjadi bayar
Raga terkapar keluarga tertampar

Demi Indonesia tanah yang kau banggakan
Bambu yang menjadi tombak
Keberanian,ujung yang runcing
Aku hanya bisa mengenang
Pada selaksa do’a
Pada jasa yang tak mampu terbalas,
Pahlawan...

From Book Store to the Hotel (Personal Recount)

Sunday, October, 20th 2013 I went to Mataram with miss Nely, my classmate. The time was 12.00 when we arrived at Mataram. Zahra, Neli’s cousin welcomed us at her boarding house. Unfortunately the rain was falling down, so we delayed to go to Gramedia book store for some minutes. We took rest while waiting for the rain.

After the rain finished, Neli, Zahra, and I went to Gramedia. We bought some books there. But there was no English novel, so I would look for it at Kharisma, Mataram Mall.

At Kharisma, I got the English novel, its title was The Speed of the Dark. While I having fun there, I see the time, it was 4.10 pm, it meant that we might pray first. I called my senior high school friend, her house was not so far from Mataram mall, Karang Bedil no.11 especially.

Some minutes later, we arrived at her house. We surprised when we looked at her house. When I was in Senior High School, her house was not like that. Especially I myself surprised when I saw the gate. That was the big gate. We entered to the yard, it was amazing, the yard was so large. It was like a football field.

Zahra, Neli, and I walked to in front of the door nearby garage. There were three cars there. I wanted to press the bell, but there was no a bell there. So, I said salam. I said it three times until Hana’, the name of my friend opened the door. I embraced her, I was so happy, because we have no met for two years, since I graduated from senior high school in SMA Islam Terpadu Mataram.

We entered to the room, Hana’ asked for us to follow her. We saw the situaition of her house and it took us breath away. There was a gymnastic tool there, and then we passed the large swimming pool and dining room to reach the guest room.

When Hana’ went to kitchen for preparing some foods and water for us, Zahra went to bathroom and Neli asked to me to take a picture for her. After Zahra finished her pray, Neli and I went to bathroom. It was amazing. That was the most beautiful bathroom ever I had seen if I compared with my friends houses. Once more, Neli and Zahra asked for me to take their photo. It made me strange. I was laughing but my tears were falling down. “How pity you are, so am I.” We took photos anywhere.

Finally, when we went home, Zahra said to us, “When we go to the hotel again?” Neli and I were laughing. Then Nely answered, “Let’s go to the hotel next holiday!”

*pengen masukin gambar hotelnya, tapi next time-lah. :) insyaallah.

Diamlah bersamaku

Saat rindu menyapa
Aku memilih untuk tidur
Saat cinta datang
Aku lebih memilih tidur
Saat kesedihan bertamu
Aku tetap pada tidur
Bukan berarti aku pengecut
Bukan pula mengabaikan Pemilik Segala
Saat orang ingin luapkan rindu
Ketika orang ingin bertemu cinta
Dimana orang ingin enyahkan kesedihan
Maka aku tidur
Lari dari medan rasa?
Bukan
Hanya ingin jaga rindu
Jaga cinta
Jaga sedih
Agar tetap ada kamu di ruang hatiku

Itulah bahagiaku

HEROES IN YOU - Alfamart. Minimarket Retail & Waralaba Terbaik

Kali ini dia berkata, “I have no idea. I feel shy. So, I want to replace this place. I don’t want to be a leader anymore.”
“Presiden evil sudah gila. Kegilaan jika ditinggalkan akan hancur. Lalu bagaimana dengan nasib para penggila lainnya jika kepala gila kita mundur?” Seorang mahasiswa perokok itu seperti hampir kehabisan bateri hidupnya. Nyala rokoknya hampir membakar habis semangatnya.
Oh, ternyata semua tetap saja membohongi diri.
“Presiden evil untuk rakyat evil.”

Membingungkan??? Heh, selamat!!!

MAQAM IBRAHIM (Description Text)

Maqam Ibrahm is a stone which prophet Ibrahim stood while building the Ka'bah. It is located at approximately 3 meters to the east of the Ka’bah. At that time, it was served as a cornerstone that can go up and down like a lift as needed. In the beginning, this maqam attached to the Ka’bah, but it was moved by caliph Umar radhiallahu 'anhu. He moved the stone in order not to disturb those who are tawaf.

From outside, we can see a hexagonal barred building like a bird's nest golden, but it is not golden, it is grillwork. It has 3 meters in height and small cupola on top. There is a crystal cupola also in it and a thick glass lid. In it, we find cornerstone of the prophet Ibrahim or his footprints. That is maqam Ibrahim itself. It is covered by silver.

The forms of two footprints of Prophet Ibrahim has 27 cm in length, 14 cm in width, and 10 cm in depth.
