Maqam
Ibrahm is a stone which prophet Ibrahim stood while building the Ka'bah. It is
located at approximately 3 meters to the east of the Ka’bah. At that time, it
was served as a cornerstone that can go up and down like a lift as needed. In
the beginning, this maqam attached to the Ka’bah, but it was moved by caliph
Umar radhiallahu 'anhu. He moved the stone in order not to disturb those who
are tawaf.
From
outside, we can see a hexagonal barred building like a bird's nest golden, but
it is not golden, it is grillwork. It has 3 meters in height and small cupola
on top. There is a crystal cupola also in it and a thick glass lid. In it, we
find cornerstone of the prophet Ibrahim or his footprints. That is maqam
Ibrahim itself. It is covered by silver.
The forms of two footprints of Prophet Ibrahim has 27 cm in length, 14 cm in width, and 10 cm in depth.
