(RETELLING NARRATIVE STORY FOR
KINDERGARTEN)
A.
CONCEPT
OF SCENARIO
I
am a kindergarten teacher. For this material, I use a flannel board to teach my
students. The material that will be taught is retelling narrative story.
This
is concept of the video.

Activity
In this section, a
teacher just retells a narrative story, “Three Little Cats”.
Once
upon a time there were three little cats and the time came for them to leave
home and seek their fortunes.
Before
they left, their mother told them "Whatever you do, do it the best that
you can because that's the way to get along in the world.
The
first little cat built his house out of straw because it was the easiest thing
to do. The second little cat built his house out of sticks. This was a little
bit stronger than a straw house. The third little cat built his house out of
bricks.
One
night the big bad dog, who dearly loved to eat fat little cat, came along and
saw the first little cat in his house of straw. He said "Cat, cat, let me
in, Let me in, little cat, or I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house
in!"
"Miau,miau,
no,no,no!", said the little cat.
But
of course the dog did blow the house in. the cat ran and shout, “Help me! Help!
Help!
The
dog then came to the house of sticks.
"Let
me in , let me in little cat, or I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your
house in."
"Miau,
miau. No, no, no!", said the little cat. But the dog blew that house in too.
Both of the cats shout, “Help me, help, help!”
The
dog then came to the house of bricks.
"
Let me in , let me in" cried the dog, "Or I'll huff and I'll puff
till I blow your house in."
"Miau,
miau. No, no, no!" said the cat.
Well,
the dog huffed and puffed but he could not blow down that brick house. But the dog
was a sly old dog and he climbed up on the roof to look for a way into the
brick house.
The
little cat saw the dog climb up on the roof and lit a roaring fire in the
fireplace. When the dog finally found the hole in the chimney he crawled down.
The buttock of the dog was burnt, that was the end of his troubles with the big
bad dog.
3. Post
activity
The teacher gives
conclusion by giving some messages relate to the narrative story.
B.
TOPIC
AND TARGET
The
topic of this lesson is retelling narrative story with the title “Three Little
Cats.” This story is modification from familiar story, Three Little Pigs. We
know, in 2013 Indonesia curriculum, we expected to consider the topic relate to
the milieu of the students, so the primary changing here is the pigs change to
the cats.
Target
of this presentation is to improve listening skill of kindergarten students. Automatically,
they will become usual to comprehend the foreign language, especially English.
C.
MEDIA
AND TOOLS
Choosing
suitable media is very important; it is expected in kindergarten level to avoid
boring of the students. In this section, I am as a teacher use the flannel
board to deliver the material. The board and some characters that will be used have
to prepare some days before delivering to students.
D.
TECHNIQUE
OF VIDEO PERSENTATION
Technique in
delivering this material is a teacher retells the narrative story while showing
the character on the flannel board, so it will help the students to comprehend
the story and to get the message of the story.
